Educational Display Information
Dear fair participants, one of the goals of the Okanogan County Fair is to educate our visitors and guests. To accomplish this goal, we encourage each department and class to prepare an educational display which may add to your fair exhibition experience, while informing the public about your project. Over the years, the animal divisions have done an exceptional job of this education, but we want every exhibit area to reach the guests with an educational message. While in the past full displays have been used, we are recommending some smaller displays for smaller spaces. Some suggestions for these displays follow:
Print should be big enough to read from where public is standing
Try using 8 1/2 x 11 tag board or half of the tag board
Use color, pictures, props, ribbons, balloons, stickers, etc.
Keep it short and sweet and simple. 10 second reading rule
Handouts are good for more lengthy and detailed education
Demonstrations are very good education. Give handouts
Educate on new crazes or trends like fleece throw tying or beaded jewelry
Don’t use same display year after year
Please, no long computer printouts
